Is your contractor listening?
How well is your contractor listening? Re-envisioning space is an art form. You undoubtedly have a strong sense of how you want each room to feel. You might not know exactly where to place a window, or how the vent should appear, but you do know how you want the room to look and behave when you're entertaining, relaxing, or sharing a meal.
Hiring the right team to realize your vision makes a world of difference. The wrong design and build team will inappropriately interject and insist on design themes and moods that do not fit your vision. It is your space, your home, and should reflect your unique personality. No one can or should dictate that to you, rather, they should listen well and offer advice when asked, but otherwise carry out your wishes.
